Our lactation consultant Sharon will do a full breastfeeding assessment including observing a breastfeed. She will work with you to make an individualised plan for feeding, that considers your breastfeeding challenges and your family situation. There is also the opportunity to participate in breastfeeding research projects via our links to the UWA Hartmann Human Lactation Research Group.
A GP/IBCLC consult can be helpful when there are medical aspects of the breastfeeding difficulties that need to be explored and managed. We are very lucky to have Marnie Rowan as part of our team. Her expertise in breastfeeding is accompanied by a wealth of experience in general practice with a particular interest in mental health and wellbeing.
